CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cleveland State finished ninth of 10 teams at the 54-hole Cincinnati Invitational that was concluded on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,053-yard Elks Run Golf Course.

It was the first time this season that the Vikings played in a 54-hole event. CSU finished with a three-round total of 1,021 with rounds of 335-333-353.

"I have no idea what happened today," head coach Steve Weir said. "It was the most frustrating round that I have been involved with. It was the first time we played 54 holes this season, but we can't use that as an excuse because all the teams were in the same boat.

"We were in contention to have a top three or four finish and just faltered in the final round. That is on us and we need to figure out how to improve and get back to where we were as a team."

Mallory Wyderka was CSU's top finisher, tying for 15th place with rounds of 80-80-88 (248). Katie Broere tied for 18th with a three round total of 250 (81-83-86).

Cincinnati won the team title by carding rounds of 315-311-317 (943), while Bambee Dela Paz of Cincinnati claimed medalist honors with rounds of 76-73-79 (228).

The Vikings are now off for two weeks before returning to action on April 14-15 at the 36-hole Ball State Cardinal Classic.
