FARMVILLE, Va. - Cleveland State shot a final round 341 and moved up one spot to finish seventh of 12 teams at the Longwood/Tina Barrett Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

The Vikings, who carded rounds of 347 and 339 on Monday to open the tournament, overtook High Point, which entered today's final round seven shots ahead of the Vikings.

"I thought we played a good, solid round today and it was nice to be able to move up one spot," head coach Steve Weir said. "I still don't think we have seen our true potential yet, but we have grown and matured with each round that we have played this spring. We are going to continue to work hard, especially on our short games, and hopefully see some improvements as we gear toward the league championship.

Junior Katie Broere was CSU's top finisher for the sixth straight event, closing with an 80 today after rounds of 80 and 85 yesterday. Her 245 total tied her for 14th place.

Junior Laren Beese was just one shot behind Broere, firing rounds of 81-82-83 to tie for 17th place at 246.

CSU will have the week off before playing at the Loyola Invitational on April 12-13.
