Cleveland State Places Fifth at Butler Invitational

March 27, 2003

The Cleveland State women's golf team posted a one-round score of 364 to place fifth at the rain-shortened Butler Spring Invitational at Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind.

Sophomore Tori Kastl (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina) carded a team-best round of 84, tying for sixth-place overall. Freshman Kristen Obush (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) finished tied for 16th after shooting an 88, while sophomore Carma Rieck (Southport, Ind./Southport) took 31st with a score of 94.

Xavier University took the team medalist honors with a score of 335 thanks in part to the play of Jill Stein and Sarah Sparks, who each shot rounds of 81 for first overall.

The women's golfers continue their spring season on April 5-6 when they participate in the Bison Spring Invitational, hosted by Bucknell University.
