AVON, Ind. - The Cleveland State women's golf team carded a 339 in the opening round of the Butler Spring Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 5,445-yard Prestwick Country Club.
"It was definatley a difficult day with the conditions that we had to battle," head coach Steve Weir said. "It was cold, rainy and windy. But the team never gave up and persevered despite the elements. And we had some pretty decent scores."
Sophomore Katie Broere led the Vikings with an 82, while sophomore Laren Beese fired an 83 and junior Mallory Wyderka had an 84.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
