Vikings Open Spring Season at Don Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Following an opening round of 357, the Cleveland State women's golf team knocked 17 shots off their second round total and finished 15th at the Don Benbow Invitational to open the spring season.

"We didn't play very well in the first round, but everyone took that to heart and wanted to get better," head coach Steve Weir said. "They went to the range on their own and started hitting balls and I have never had a team do that. Everyone wants to get better and they are continue to work hard."

Sophomore Ariel Sparrow was CSU's top finisher, firing rounds of 83-80 (163) to place 21st.

The Vikings are back in action on March 28-29 when CSU competes at the Butler Spring Invitational in Avon, Ind.
