BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Cleveland State shot a final round 349 and placed eighth of 10 teams at the season opening Campbell Fighting Camel Classic that concluded on Tuesday morning with the final nine holes.
Teams played 27 holes on Monday due to the threat of inclement weather today.
The Vikings, who shot an opening round 332, finished two shots behind seventh place South Carolina State (679) and 19 shots behind Dayton and Towson who finished tied for fifth at 662.
Campbell won the event with rounds of 292-296 (588).
Senior Laren Beese led the Vikings, tying for 16th place with rounds of 80-82 (162), while senior Katie Broere was 31st at 169 (80-89).
The Vikings will return to action on March 15-16 at the South Dakota Invitational in Primm Valley, Nev.
