Vikings Open Spring Season at Fighting Camel Classic

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Cleveland State shot an opening round 332 and is in fifth place out of 10 teams after the first round of the Fighting Camel Classic being played at the par-72, 6,012 yard Keith Hills C.C.

It is CSU's first event of the spring.

Host Campbell leads after a first round 292 and is followed by Appalachian State (311), Presbyterian and Towson (326), CSU and South Carolina State (333).

Seniors Katie Broere and Laren Beese are tied for 15th place after both shot rounds of 80.

Freshman Ariel Sparrow is tied for 22nd following an 82.

The two-day, 36-hole event concludes with the final round on Tuesday (March 2). Teams will have a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
