Cleveland State Women's Golf Ends First Day of Coyote Creek Classic in Seventh Place

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State women's golf team wrapped up the first day of the Coyote Creek Classic, hosted by Bradley, in seventh place of 13 teams. The Vikings only sit eight strokes behind Green Bay and Loyola Chicago, who sit tied for the fifth spot.

Meg Rossouw had an incredible opening day, finishing T9, shooting three over par (76-71 - 147). Rossouw's 71 on the second round was good for one under-par.

Lexi Knight had her best start to an outing this fall season, finishing the day T27 (77-77 - 154, +10). Alex Jakins finished two strokes behind Knight for T38 (80-76 - 156, +12), while Sabrina Coffmann sat two strokes behind Jakins in the 44th spot (80-78 - 158, +14).

Madison Butler rounded out the Vikings shooting +17 on the day (81-80 - 161), good for 50th overall.

The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
