CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland State women's golf team heads to Florida this week to participate in the Horizon League Championship at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The championship will be conducted over three days beginning with the opening round on Sunday (April 21).

Cleveland State enters the tournament as the fourth seed, while IUPUI is the top seed heading into championship play.

The Vikings finished third in 2018 Horizon League Championship led by Madison Butler and Kaylee Neumeister. Butler finished tied for sixth with a three-round score of 232, while Neumeister was tied for 11th with a score of 241.

Neumesiter enters the tournament playing well as she has posted nine consecutive rounds under 80 and was named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week last week after earning medalist honors at the Youngstown State Invitational. Neumeister leads the Vikings with a 76.8 scoring average and has four top-five finishes on the season.

Butler ranks second on the team with a 76.9 scoring average and leads the Vikings with seven top-20 finishes on the season.

Ashley Knight, who tied for 22nd place at last year's Horizon League Championship, ranks third on the Vikings with a 78.8 stroke average.

Meg Rossouw and Grace Zimmerman are fourth and fifth on the team in scoring average. Rossouw has an average of 81.4, while Zimmerman has an 81.6 average.

The championship will be played on the Las Colinas course at Mission Inn Resort & Club. Rossouw will be the first Viking to tee off on Sunday as she begins her round at 8:50 a.m.
