Vikings Move Up One Spot; Tie for Sixth Place at Dolores Black Falcon Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Cleveland State shot a final round 311 and moved up one spot to finish tied for sixth place out of 16 teams at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational that concluded on Sunday at the par-72, 5,982-yard Stone Ridge GC.

The Vikings were five shots better than Saturday's opening round 316 to move up one spot in the final standings, finishing tied with Ball State at 627.

Indianapolis won the tourament with a 600 total, while Toledo was second at 603. Ohio was third at 621 and was followed by Eastern Michigan (623), host Bowling Green (625) and CSU and Ball State.

The Vikings were the top finishing Horizon League school at the event, besting Oakland which finished 11th at 639, UIC who finished 12th at 644, Youngstown State (T-13th; 649) and Detroit Mercy (15th; 670).

Senior Emily Turski posted a top-10 finish as her back-to-back rounds of 76 helped her finish in a tie for 10th place with a 152 total. She was the top finisher from a Horizon League school.

Sophomore Kaylee Neumeister tied for 19th place at 154 (78-76), while freshman Amanda Baker tied for 32nd place with roundsof 80-79 (159). Freshman Madison Butler shot 82-81 (163) and tied for 54th and freshman Ashley Knight carded rounds of 84-80 to tie for 61st at 164.

CSU closes out the regular season when the Vikings host the Sand Ridge Shootout on Friday with tee times beginning at 12:30 pm.
