Vikings Head to Dolores Black Falcon Invitational This Weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (April 7-8) at the par-72, 5,829-yard Stone Ridge GC. Teams will tee off at 12:00 pm on Saturday for the first 18 holes with the final 18 holes on Sunday with an 11:00 am shotgun start.

Live stats will be available on Golfstat.

In addition to CSU and host Bowling Green, the field includes Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Michigan, Findlay, Indianapolis, Lawrence, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, UIC, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.

The Vikings have been out of action since finishing 11th at the Babs Steffens Hatter Classic in Florida from March 24-26. Freshman Madison Butler led CSU as she tied for 18th place with rounds of 78-80-78 (236) for her second top-20 finish of the season.

Butler leads the team with a 78.4 scoring average this year, just ahead of Kaylee Neumeister who has a 78.9 average. The duo is attempting to become just the third set of teammates to post scoring averages of under 80.0 in the same season and it would mark the third straight season for the Vikings.

Butler won the YSU Invitational in the fall, becoming just the fifth player in program history to win an event, while Neumeister has CSU's low round of the season with a 70 at the Ball State Invitational.

Amanda Baker and Ashley Knight both have 80.4 averages this year, with Sophie Kelner at 81.1 and Emily Turski at 81.6.

The Vikings are back in action next Friday (April 13), hosting the CSU Invitational at Sand Ridge GC. The field, which includes CSU, Bowling Green, Niagara and Youngstown State - will start at 12:30 pm with tee times.
