Women's Golf Opens Play at EKU Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State opened play at the EKU Colonel Classic on Fridayat the par-72, 5,889-yard University Club at Arlington.

CSU shot rounds of 325 and 341 and is tied for 12th place after 36 holes. The first round was delayed by 90 minutes due to weather this morning.

Rayna Oosterhuis is CSU's top golfer on the leaderboard as she is tied for 41st place after rounds of 77-84 for a 36 hole total of 161. Kayla Neumiester is one shot back at 162 after rounds of 79-83.

Other CSU scores from the first day include Sophie Kelner (68th, 171) and Ellie Cronin (T-69, 172), while Emily Turski had to withdraw. 

Ball State has the team lead at 600, while host Eastern Kentucky is second at 611.

The final round of the event will be played on Saturday with an 8:30 am shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
