Women's Golf Opens Play at William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Cleveland State women's golf team opened the William & Mary Invitational on Sunday with the first two rounds and is in 10th place after rounds of 315 and 323 at the 6,043-yard, par-72 Plantation Course at Kingsmill.

Freshman Ellie Cronin leads the Vikings as she is tied for 31st place after 36 holes. Cronin opened with an 81 and shot a 76 in the afternoon for a two round total of 157.

Freshman Kaylee Neumeister and junior Sophie Kelner are both tied for 41st place with 159 totals. Neumeister shot rounds of 77 and 82, while Kelner carded rounds of 79 and 80 today.

Neumesiter combined to make 24 pars over the two rounds today, tied for the third most among players in the field.

Kelner finished among the leaders in par-five scoring today, playing the four par-fives in even-par.

The final round of the event will be played on Monday morning.
