Vikings Return to Action on EKU Colonel Classic

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action on Friday and Saturday (April 1-2) when the Vikings compete in the EKU Colonel Classic.

The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 5,819-yard University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Ky.

In addition to CSU, the field features host Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, Ball State, Belmont, Bowling Green, Dayton, IUPUI, Northern Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee Tech.

The Vikings were last in action on March 21-22, placing sixth at the Butler Spring Invitational. CSU shot an opening round 313, but high winds played a role in a final round 336.

Allyson Hackman had a strong showing as she finished second with rounds of 76-75 (151). It was Hackman's 10th career top-five finish, including her third this year. She leads the team with a 78.4 scoring average.

Rayna Oosterhuis tied for sixth at Butler, shooting 77-81 (158) and is second on the team with a 79.1 scoring average.

CSU closes the regular season at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 9-10, leading into the Horizon League Championship in Florida that runs from April 22-24.
