Vikings in Second Place After First Round of Butler Invitational

AVON, Ind. - Cleveland State shot a first round 313 and is in second place after the opening round of the Butler Spring Invitational that began on Monday at the Prestwick CC.

Playing their first competitive round since the beginning of the month, the Vikings will enter Tuesday's final round behind leader Indiana State which shot a 297 today. Butler and IUPUI are tied for third at 318, while Wittenberg (320), Loyola (328) and IUPUI (343) round out the field.

CSU has four players in the top-12 of the individuals standings, led by senior Allyson Hackman who is tied for fifth place after an opening round 76. Freshman Rayna Oosterhuis is one shot behind and in seventh place, while senior Madison Lomas and sophomore Sophie Kelner both carded 80's and are tied for 12th place.

Sophomore Emily Turski is tied for 22nd place after an 82.

The final round of the event will be played on Tuesday with a 9:00 am shotgun start.
