Vikings Open Play at Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC - The Cleveland State women's golf team opened play at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Sunday, shooting a first round 334 and is in 39th place overall.

The event is tabbed as the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country with 41 teams in this year's field. Today's first round was played at the par-72, 5,964-yard Osprey Point GC.

Rayna Oosterhuis shot the low round of the day for the Vikings with an 82, while Sophie Kelner shot an 83. Allyson Hackman carded an 84, while Madison Lomas shot 85 and Emily Turski rounded out CSU's group with a 92.

The second round of the tournament will be played Oak Point GC on Monday with teams teeing off between 9:15 am and 12:00 pm. CSU will tee off on the 10th hole between 9:59 am and 10:35 am.
