CSU Golf Teams Volunteer With Special Olympics Ohio - Greater Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's and women's golf team volunteered with the Special Olympics Ohio - Greater Cleveland on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the 2015 Aquatics Championships at the Strongsville Recreation Center.

The event qualifies area athletes from Lorain, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties to compete in the Special Olympics State Aquatics Championships in December at Ohio State.

It marked the eighth consecutive year that head coach Steve Weir and his men's and women's golf programs volunteered at the the event, playing an integral role in the success of the Championships.


"We cannot thank the men's and women's golf programs enough for their dedication to our program over the years and the continued support of Special Olympics in our area," said Tim Adams from the Special Olympics Greater Cleveland. "Cleveland State University should be very proud of coach Weir and his fantastic student-athletes. They do an extremely good job at our event and represent the University with leadership, maturity and kindness."


To show their appreciate of the support from the golf programs, the Special Olympics Greater Cleveland presented coach Weir and his teams with a plaque to thank them for eight years of volunteering and community service.
