Women's Golf Returns to Action at The Fall Preview

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team will play its second to last fall tournament of the season when the Vikings compete in The Fall Preview on Sunday and Monday (Oct. 11-12).

The 54-hole event will be played at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.

The 13 team field includes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, CSU, Eastern Michigan, UIC, Indiana State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.

The first two rounds will be played on Sunday (Oct. 11) with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. as teams will play continuous rounds. The final 18 holes will be played on Monday (Oct. 12) with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.

The Vikings are coming off a fifth place finish at the Toledo Rocket Classic on Monday and Tuesday, carding rounds of 323-313-315, finishing ahead of the other three Horizon League schools in the field.

Allyson Hackman and Sophie Kelner paced the Vikings as the duo tied for eighth place. Hackman shot rounds of 80-74-76, while Kelner shot 78-73-79 as both finished with 54-hole totals of 230.

Hackman leads the team with a 77.1 scoring average, while Hannah Bennie (77.4) and Kelner (77.9) are close behind.

CSU concludes the fall season on Oct. 19-20 when the Vikings compete at the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio.
