Viking Quartet Named To Spring All-Academic Teams

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Cleveland State student-athletes were honored by the Horizon League Wednesday morning (June 17), as the league released its Spring All-Academic Teams. The four Vikings honored for their academic and athletic success this past spring were; Manuel Bellutti (Men's Tennis), Nena Doran (Softball), Allyson Hackman (Women's Golf), and Colleen Miller (Women's Golf).

Bellutti – a senior on the men's tennis team – graduated with a degree in economics and finished his collegiate career with a 3.39 cumulative GPA. Bellutti finished the 2014-15 season with a team-high 24-8 singles record, including a 17-5 mark during the spring season. After transferring to Cleveland State as a junior, Bellutti notched 49 singles wins on his career – a program record for singles wins over a two-year span.

Doran was a standout on the softball field for the Vikings, picking up Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week honors three times throughout the 2015 season. For the year she hit .311 with 11 home runs, seven doubles, and 22 RBI and had 18 multi-hit games. Three of her 11 home runs came against Northern Kentucky on March 7 – marking a Cleveland State single-game record.

Doran graduated this spring with a 3.86 cumulative GPA and a degree in health sciences.

Hackman picked up First Team All-League honors this season after posting a Cleveland State single-season scoring record of 77.4. She recorded six top-10 finishes throughout the year, and tied for sixth at the Horizon League Championship – earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team for the third straight year.

Hackman owns a 3.47 cumulative GPA entering her senior season, and is working on a degree in mechanical engineering.

Miller – a senior on the women's golf team – graduated this past May with a degree in operations supply chain management and carried a 3.91 cumulative GPA throughout her career. Over the course of the 2014-15 season, Miller posted an 83.9 scoring average and notched three top-10 finishes for the Vikings.

Earlier this year, Miller earned the Award for Excellence in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the 47th Annual Rotary Awards for Cleveland State University Business Students.

To be eligible for the Horizon League All-Academic Teams an individual must be a starter or important reserve, have completed one academic year prior to the start of their athletic season at the member school, passed 24 semester credit hours, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.
