CSU in Third Place After First Round of League Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State shot an opening round 324 and is in third place after the first day of the 2015 Horizon League Championship.

The event is being played at the par-72, 6,012-yard  Mission Inn Resort.

Oakland and Youngstown State both fired opening rounds of 308 and are tied for first place. CSU is next and is followed by Green Bay (327), Valparaiso (334), UIC (336) and Detroit (337).

Allyson Hackman, who was named to the all-league team on Thursday night, is tied for second place after a two-over-par 72. Hackman made two birdies and three bogies on the front nine and after a bogey on the 10th hole, finished her round with eight straight pars.

Her 12 pars were tied for the second most in round one.

Colleen Miller is tied for 14th place after a first round 82, while Sophie Kelner, Madison Lomas and Hannah Bennie all shot 84 and are tied for 18th place.

The second round of the league championship will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday morning.
