CSU Plays Regular Season Finale This Weekend

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team plays its final event ahead of the Horizon League Championship when the Vikings compete in the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (April 11-12).

The event, hosted by Bowling Green, will be played at the par-72, 5,960-yard Stone Ridge G.C. with the 10 team field playing 36 holes on both days. Both days will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

In addition to CSU and host Bowling Green, the field includes Central Michigan, Detroit, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, UIC, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.

The Vikings were last in action over the weekend, placing 10th of 12 teams at the Colonel Classic. The event was shortened to 18 holes after Friday's action was cancelled due to rain. CSU, which played with just four players in its lineup, carded a 329.

Allyson Hackman led the Vikings with a 77 to tie for 13th place. She has been CSU's top finisher in all but one event this season and lead the team with a 77.1 scoring average. Hackman, who has five top-five finishes in eight events this year, has a career scoring average of 79.0, tops in school history.

CSU has posted the lowest round in school history this season, carding a 296 at the Youngstown State Invitational during the fall, while Sophie Kelner fired a 68 at the Butler Invitational in October, the lowest round in school history.

Hackman became the second player to break 70 in school history when she shot a 69 at the Butler Spring Invitational on March 24.

Kelner is second on the team with an 81.3 scoring average and is followed by Colleen Miller (84.0), Hannah Bennie (84.3) and Madison Lomas (85.4).

The Vikings return to action at the Horizon League Championship from April 24-26 in Florida.
