Hackman Wins Benbow Invitational; Vikings Finish Second

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Allyson Hackman made a par on the first playoff hole to capture medalist honors for the first time in her career and Cleveland State finished second at the Benbow Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,079-yard Jacksonville Beach G.C.

Hackman was tied with teammate Sophie Kelner at 155 after 36 holes, but used a par save on the first playoff hole to earn her first career victory.

Hackman's victory marks the seventh time a CSU player has earned medalist honors at a tournament and the first since Shelly Ford won the Butler Bulldog Invitational last year.

The Vikings shot a second round 334, finishing with a 36 hole total of 658 to finish 14 shots behind team champion Butler.

Hackman carded a final round 78 after an opening round 77, while Kelner finished at 155 with rounds of 75-80.

The Vikings are back in action on March 23-24 when CSU competes at the Butler Invitational.
