Colonel Classic Up Next for Women's Golf

LIVE SCORING

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action on Friday and Saturday (April 4-5) when the Vikings compete at the Colonel Classic.

The 54-hole event, hosted by Eastern Kentucky, will be played at the par-72, 5,838-yard Arlington G.C. with the field playing 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday.

The field includes host Eastern Kentucky, CSU, Akron, Bethel, Bowling Green, Cumberlands, Marshall, Morehead State, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, USC Upstate and Xavier.

The Vikings are coming off their second straight runner-up finish this spring, placing second at the Butler Spring Invitational on March 24-25. CSU carded a first round 314 and finished in second place as the final event was canceled due to snow.

That finish came on the heels of a runner-up finish at the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 10-11.

Senior Shelly Ford shared medalist honors at the Butler Spring Invitational with a 74, earning Horizon League Co-Player of the Week honors. Her 74 was one shot of tying her career-best of 73 at the Chicago State Invitational in the fall.

Allyson Hackman has had a strong showing in both spring events this year, tying for third place at the Benbow Invitational and tying for eighth place at the Butler Spring Invitational. Hackman leads the team with a 79.4 scoring average, which is currently the third best single season scoring average in CSU history.

Ford is second on the team with an 80.7 scoring average and is followed by Micaela Cronin (82.8), Madeline Kaminski (84.6), Colleen Miller (86.1) and Steff Camarata (91.2), who has played both spring events as an individual.

CSU concludes the regular season when the Vikings compete at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 12-13, leading up to the Horizon League Championship in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., from April 25-27.
