Vikings Place Sixth at CSU Invitational

HINCKLEY, Ohio - Cleveland State shot a final round 323 and finished sixth of eight teams at the CSU Invitational that concluded on Tuesday at Pine Hills G.C.

The Vikings were forced to play four players and count all four scores after Allyson Hackman had to withdraw with illness.

Bowling Green won the title with a 36 hole total of 608 (300-308), while BGSU's Shelby Wilson claimed medalist honors with a three-over-par 149 (74-75), winning by one shot over a trio of golfers.

St. Francis finished as the runner-up at 618, while Youngstown State was third at 624. Detroit finished fourth (630) and was followed by Bowling Green "B" (640), Cleveland State (642), Robert Morris (645) and Niagara (681).

Senior Micaela Cronin was CSU's top finisher, tying for 10th place with rounds of 79-77 (156). Senior Shelly Ford matched Cronin for low round today with a 77 and wound up tied for 20th place at 160 (83-77).

Senior Madeline Kaminski tied for 27th place (85-81 - 166) and junior Colleen Miller tied for 29th place (80-88 - 168).

Playing as an individual, freshman Mary Rose Metter tied for 37th place (90-83 - 173).

The Vikings are now out of action until Oct. 7-8 when CSU competes in the MAC Preview.
