Vikings in Fifth Place After First Round of CSU Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State is in fifth place out of eight teams after carding a first round 319 at the CSU Invitational on Monday at Pine Hills G.C.

Sophomore Allyson Hackman is tied for eighth place overall after a first round 77 that included a chip in for eagle on the par-5 seventh hole.

Micaela Cronin shot a 79 and is tied for 16th place, while Colleen Miller is tied for 20th place after an 80. Shelly Ford shot 83 and is tied for 28th place and Madeline Kaminski is tied for 34th place after an opening round 85.

Bowling Green has three players in the top five and leads after a first round 300. The Falcons hold an 11 stroke lead over Youngstown State and St. Francis (Pa.), while Detroit is in fourth at 318, just one shot ahead of CSU.

Bowling Green "B" is in sixth at 322, while Robert Morris (324) and Niagara (346) round out the field.

Shelby Wilson of Bowling Green carded a one-over-par 74 and is the individual leader by one shot over a trio of players who shot 75.

The final round of the CSU Invitational will be played on Tuesday (Sept. 24), beginning with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
