INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Cleveland State senior Ariel Sparrow (Strongsville, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Women's Golfer of the Week.

The league office made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

Sparrow won the weather-shortened 18-hole Angola Invitational hosted by Ball State on Saturday with a two-over par 74. Her 74 was just one shot off her career low and tied for the third lowest round in program history.

Sparrow became just the second player in CSU history to claim medalist honors at an event, joining Kristen Obush who won four times in her career, the last coming in 2005.

Sparrow helped lead CSU to a score of 311 for the round, the second lowest round in program history.

The Vikings return to action from Friday through Sunday (April 26-28) when CSU competes in the Horizon League Championship in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
