HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Behind strong play throughout the lineup, the Cleveland State women's golf team is tied for first place after the opening day of the Horizon League Championship.

CSU shot an opening round 312 and is tied with Detroit for the top spot, nine shots ahead of Youngstown State and Valparaiso who are tied for third place. Loyola is fifth at 327, while Green Bay is sixth (331) and UIC seventh (338).

The league championship is being played at the par-72, 5,817-yard Mission Inn Resort.
