RICHMOND, Ky. - The Cleveland State women's golf team showed no signs of rust despite not playing a competitive round in over three weeks, tying the school record with a second round 312 at the Colonel Classic on Friday afternoon.

The Vikings carded a first round 325 in the morning round at the par-72, 5,807-yard Arlington Golf Club.

CSU is playing in just its second tournament of the spring season after last week's Butler Spring Invitational was cancelled due to poor weather. The Vikings had not played a competitive round since competing in the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 11-12.

Freshman Allyson Hackman led the Vikings with a pair of 79's and is tied for 34th place at 158. Senior Ariel Sparrow is one shot back at 159 after following a first round 82 with a 77.

The Vikings used senior Lisa Barber's 76 - CSU's low round of the day, and an 80 by junior Shelly Ford, to card the second round 312.

Barber is tied for 45th place overall at 159 (83-76).

CSU is tied for 11th of 14 teams after the first two rounds.

Playing as individuals, junior Micaela Cronin and sophomore Colleen Miller both shot second round 78's. Cronin is also tied for 45th place at 159 (81-78).

The final round will be played on Saturday with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
