CLEVELAND, Ohio - Fresh off a runner-up finish at the season opening Benbow Invitational, the Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action when the Vikings compete at the Butler Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26).

The 36 hole event will be played at the par-72, 5,930-yard Prestwick C.C.

The Vikings finished fourth at the event last season.

CSU opened the spring season by finishing second of 10 teams at the Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 11-12 with rounds of 327 and 318. The Vikings were tied for the lead after round one, but were overtaken by IUPUI on the final day as the Jaguars shot 304.

The Vikings had a very balanced attack in Jacksonville as all five scorers placed in the top-20 of the 61 player field.

Madeline Kaminski and Ariel Sparrow tied for 15th place at 162, while Allyson Hackman and Shelly Ford were one shot back and tied for 17th place. Lisa Barber tied for 19th place at 165.

Sparrow leads the team with a 79.3 scoring average, while Kaminski is close behind at 80.2 and Hackman at 80.9. As a team, the Vikings are averaging 320.9 per round, putting the Vikings on pace to shatter the single-season school record for scoring average, currently held by the last year's squad (329.5).

CSU will be back in action on April 5-6 when the Vikings compete in the Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
