JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Cleveland State women's golf team began its spring season with an opening round 327 and is tied for first place out of 10 teams at the Benbow Invitational.
CSU is tied for the lead with Appalachian State, three shots ahead of Bethune-Cookman. Butler is fourth at 332 and is followed by IUPUI (333), Evansville (337), Eastern Illinois (339), Northern Kentucky (344), California Baptist (354) and IPFW (358).
Madeline Kaminski paced the Vikings in the first round, carding a 79, while Ariel Sparrow shot 81.Allyson Hackman shot 82, while Shelly Ford was CSU's fourth scorer with an 85.
The Vikings are back in action on Tuesday when CSU concludes play in the Benbow Invitational.
