CSU Finishes Second at Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 318, knocking nine shots off Monday's opening round, and finished second at the Benbow Invitational that concluded on Tuesday.

CSU finished with a 36 hole total of 645, finishing eight shots behind team champion IUPUI which carded rounds of 333 and 304.

"I thought we played very well over the last two days," head coach Steve Weir said. "I am extremely happy with this group and where they are out, especially with this being our first event of the spring."

Shelly Ford and Lisa Barber tied for team-low honors in today's second round, both shooting 78.

Madeline Kaminski and Ariel Sparrow tied for low 36 hole honors at 162. Kaminski shot 79-83, while Sparrow had back-to-back rounds of 81.

The Vikings are back in action at the Butler Invitational on March 25-26.
