Britt Korth, a former Cleveland State women’s basketball standout, is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach at her alma mater. Korth has been involved with NCAA Division I women’s basketball for 11 years, while the 2014-15 season will mark her seventh year serving in a coaching role.

During her first three years as an assistant coach with the Vikings, Korth has primarily worked with the guards - including Cori Coleman who became the 24th Viking to record 1,000 career points last season. Since Korth joined the CSU coaching staff, the Vikings have improved their assist per game average every season, averaging 14.4 assists per game last year. Korth is also involved with on-floor coaching, opponent scouting, recruiting, and the team’s academic efforts.

Prior to her return to Cleveland State, Korth spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant coach at IUPUI. Her first two years in a coaching role came as a graduate assistant at Cleveland State, where she helped guide the Vikings to the 2010 Horizon League Championship and their second berth in the NCAA tournament.

The first recruit to sign at CSU with head coach Kate Peterson Abiad in 2003, Korth went on to earn four letters for the Vikings, helping lead CSU to its first-ever Horizon League tournament title and NCAA tournament bid in 2008. She averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game as a senior, knocking down 64 three-pointers, the second most in a single season in school history.

A four-year letterwinner, Korth finished her career as CSU’s all-time leader with 120 games played, a record that has since been broken. She still ranks second in school history in three point field goals made (166) and attempted (583), fifth in games started (99) and fifth in assists (583).

A native of Clinton, Wis., Korth graduated from Cleveland State in 2008 with a degree in psychology and earned her master’s degree from CSU in sport management in 2010.
