Fifteen Three-Pointers Leads Vikings To 86-63 Victory Over Green Bay

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's basketball team returned home for the first time in two weeks, posting a convincing 86-63 victory over league-leading Green Bay. With the win, the Vikings are now 20-4 overall this season, 11-2 in #HLWBB play and sitting in first place in the league standings.

Game Stats
-Four Vikings finished the game in double-figures, led by Mickayla Perdue with 30 points. Colbi Maples added on 21 points, while Jordana Reisma and Sara Guerreiro both chipped in 12.
-Cleveland State held a 36-28 edge in rebounding on the game, including eight boards from Jordana Reisma and Carmen Villalobos.
-The Vikings shot 51-percent from the floor, including a .702 clip during the fourth quarter.

The Game
Cleveland State was able to get out to a quick start on the game, as back-to-back three-pointers from Mickayla Perdue and Colbi Maples gave the Vikings an early 6-0 advantage. Although Green Bay was able to stop the scoring run, another Perdue three-pointer just over two minutes into the frame put the Vikings up 9-2.

The Vikings were able to maintain control throughout the rest of the quarter then, with a Maples layup at the end of the frame giving the Vikings a 24-17 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.

Another Perdue three-pointer to start the second quarter gave the Vikings a double-digit lead at 27-17, but a 9-1 run from Green Bay closed the gap to just two points at 28-26 midway through the frame.

Cleveland State responded with a Sara Guerreiro three-pointer at the 4:49 mark, while six straight points for the Vikings to close the frame put Cleveland State up 37-30 heading into the halftime break.

The Vikings carried their momentum into the third quarter, as a Reisma and-one play regained a double-digit lead for Cleveland State at 40-30 less than 30 seconds into the frame, while a Maples three-pointer one minute later put the Vikings up 43-30.

Green Bay was able to trim the lead over the next few possessions, and keep the lead to single digits for the majority of the frame, with Cleveland State taking a 58-51 lead into the fourth quarter.

Yet another three-pointer for the Vikings to open the fourth quarter gave Cleveland State 61-51 edge following a Guerreiro made basket from behind-the-arc, while the Vikings used an 8-0 run a few minutes later to extend their lead to 69-53 at the 7:07 mark.

Despite Green Bay stopping the scoring run, back-to-back baskets from Perdue and Guerreiro gave the Vikings their first 20-point lead of the game at 75-55, while Cleveland State controlled play for the remainder of the frame, coming away with the 86-63 victory.
