Crockett Double-Double Leads CSU To 83-43 Victory At UIC

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team closed out its weekend roadswing at UIC on Saturday, picking up an 83-43 victory against the Flames. With the win, the Vikings are now 16-6 overall this season and 6-5 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
· Four Vikings finished the game with double-figure points, led by Mariah White with 15 points and Savanna Crockett with 14. Mariah Miller added 13 points for the Vikings and JaMiya Braxton posted 10.
· As a team, the Vikings grabbed 53 rebounds, including 12 from Savanna Crockett and nine from Nadia Dumas.
· Cleveland State recorded 21 assists on 31 made field goals, including six from Mariah White and four from Jade Ely.
·The Vikings recorded 11 total steals on the game, and forced UIC into 19 turnovers.
· Aminata Ly notched five blocked shots on the game, while Savanna Crockett and Nadia Dumas each added one.
· The Vikings shot 43-percent on the game, marking the 12th time this season that they have posted a .400 clip or better.

· Savanna Crockett recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds at UIC.
· Nadia Dumas marked a career-high with her nine rebounds at UIC.
· The Vikings posted double-digit steals for the ninth time this season after recording 11 against the Flames.
· After going 3-for-4 from behind-the-arc at UIC, JaMiya Braxton is now just one three-pointer shy of recording 100 on her career.
· This marked the fourth time this season that the Vikings eclipsed the 80-point mark, and the second time in Horizon League play.
· With the win, the Vikings swept the season series over the Flames, as they also picked up an 84-44 victory against UIC in the Horizon League opener earlier this season.

The Game
The Vikings were able to get off to a fast start at UIC on Saturday, as they posted the first nine points of the game, and then gained a double-digit lead at 12-2 following a JaMiya Braxton three-pointer just over five minutes into the contest.

Cleveland State went on to control play throughout the remainder of the frame, and took a 20-point lead into the second period at 27-7 after holding the Flames to single-digits during the first 10 minutes of play.

The Vikings were then able to outscore UIC 20-10 during the second quarter, as they took a 30-point advantage into the halftime break, leading 47-17.

Cleveland State's offensive output continued through the third quarter then, as they shot 57-percent from the floor to gain a 69-25 lead going into the final 10 minutes of regulation.

The Vikings opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back baskets from Nadia Dumas and Jade Ely, extending their lead to 73-25 just 1:12 into the frame, and then went on to claim an 83-43 victory, marking a season sweep over the Flames.
