Crockett Earns #HLWBB Freshman Of The Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the second time this season, Cleveland State women's basketball freshman Savanna Crockett has been honored by the Horizon League, as she has been named the #HLWBB Freshman of the Week.

Last week, Crockett tallied back-to-back 18-point performances against Toledo and Marshall, marking a career-high in scoring and leading the Viking offense during both games. The Milwaukee, Wis. native has now recorded double-digit points in seven out of 10 games this year, and is one of four Vikings to average 10.0+ points per game (12.0 ppg).

Crockett also averaged 9.0 rebounds per game last week, notching eight against Toledo and 10 at Marshall. With her 18-point, 10-rebound effort against the Herd, Crockett tallied her fifth double-double of the season.

Among Horizon League players, Crockett ranks eighth in scoring (12.0 ppg) and sits at the top of the standings in rebounding (9.6 rpg), and is one of just three players to appear in the top-10 in both categories.

Crockett, who has appeared in the starting lineup during all 10 games this season, is one of just three rookies in the Horizon League to earn a starting spot in every single contest so far this year.

The Vikings will return to action on Wednesday, December 19, hosting Bradley at 5:00 p.m. to close out the non-league portion of their schedule.
