Cleveland State at Ohio

SETTING THE SCENE
The Cleveland State women's basketball team will return to action on Monday, December 29, as the Vikings are set to travel to Ohio University for a 7:00 p.m. contest. Entering the contest, CSU stands at 7-4 on the season, while Ohio is 8-2. This will be the 24th meeting between the two teams, with the Bobcats owning a 15-8 advantage in the overall series.

A WIN MONDAY WOULD…
Give the Vikings consecutive wins for the third time this season…Allow CSU to finish the month of December with a 5-2 record…Mark Cleveland State's third win out of the last four matchups against Ohio.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio enters Monday's contest with an 8-2 overall record, picking up wins in their last two contests against Massachusetts and La Salle…The Bobcats are outscoring their opponents by an average of 18.7 points per game, while they rank second in the Mid American Conference averaging 76.4 point per game…Ohio leads the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (.360), three-pointers made (10.3), and turnover margin (+7.4)…Individually, Kelly Karlis leads the MAC with a .526 three-point field goal percentage, while Kiyanna Black leads the MAC averaging 3.3 three-pointers per game and Yamonie Jenkins has a league-best 4.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

LAST TIME OUT
Cleveland State got back on the winning track at Morehead State last time out, posting an 80-72 victory over the Eagles. Imani Gordon tallied a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Kiersten Green tallied a team-high 22 points. For the fifth time this season CSU had four players finish in double-figures - as Cori Coleman added 15 points and Allison Mitchell tallied 10.

COLEMAN PLAYS IN 100TH GAME
Last Sunday's contest at Morehead State marked the 100th game for senior Cori Coleman during her Cleveland State career. Coleman, who joins classmate Kiersten Green on the 100 games played list, has started all but six games during her time in a Viking uniform, ranking eighth on the CSU career record list with 94 career starts.

GREEN CHASING 1,000 CAREER POINTS
After notching a season-high tying 22 points at Morehead State last time out, Kiersten Green is now just 11 points shy of recording 1,000 on her career. Green would be the 25th Viking to record 1,000 career points and the ninth to do so under head coach Kate Peterson Abiad. Green, who is averaging 12.1 points per game this season, would join classmate Cori Coleman on the 1,000 point scorer list, as Coleman recorded her 1,000th career point last season.

…GORDON NOT FAR BEHIND
Senior Imani Gordon is also closing in on her 1,000th career point, as she enters Monday's contest with 972 points on her career. Gordon ranks second on the team averaging 14.9 points per game, and needs 28 more points to become the 26th Viking to achieve the feat. If Gordon and Kiersten Green both record their 1,000th career points this season, it would mark the fourth time in program history that a pair of teammates recorded their 1,000th point in the same season. Also, if Gordon and Green achieve the feat this season, it would mark the first time in program history that CSU has three 1,000 point scorers on the same team.

MITCHELL HAS CAREER GAME AT MOREHEAD STATE
Junior Allison Mitchell had the best game of her Cleveland State career last time out, finishing with a complete stat line of 10 points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Mitchell, who played a career-high 24 minutes at Morehead State, went 2-for-3 from three-point and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line to record the first double-digit game of her career.

VIKINGS ON THE GLASS
For the second time this season Cleveland State was able to outrebound its opponent last time out, grabbing a season-high 45 rebounds at Morehead State. This marked the third time that the Vikings have notched at least 40 rebounds this season, while seven of the nine Vikings who saw action in the game recorded four or more boards.

FREE THROW LINE IMPROVEMENT
The Vikings also had a strong showing from the free throw line last time out, converting 23 of their 25 attempts for a season-high .920 clip. Prior to the game at Morehead State the Vikings were shooting just 53-percent from the free throw line on the season, and had shot 70-percent or better during just two games (Toledo & Belmont). At MSU, the Vikings had five players with perfect efforts from the free throw line, including Imani Gordon who was 9-for-9.

GORDON NOTCHES 600TH REBOUND
Following her 10-rebound performance at Morehead State last time out, Imani Gordon became the 15th Viking all-time to grab 600 rebounds on their career. Entering Monday's contest, Gordon has 607 total rebounds, and needs just eight more to move into 14th place on the CSU career record list. Gordon also ranks eighth with 412 defensive rebounds, while she is just shy of cracking the top-10 with 195 offensive boards.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP
The Cleveland State senior trio of Cori Coleman (176 pts), Imani Gordon (164), and Kiersten Green (133) has combined for 473 of CSU's 810 points so far this season - accounting for 58-percent of CSU's offense. All three seniors are averaging double-digit points per game, while they have also combined for a .433 clip from the floor (161-for-371).

GORDON NOTCHES DOUBLE-DOUBLE AGAINST MSU
Imani Gordon posted her first double-double of the season against Morehead State, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Gordon, who is averaging 14.9 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game, is closing in on becoming the 13th Viking all-time to post 1,000 points and 600 rebounds on their career - entering Monday's contest with 607 rebounds and 972 points. Gordon would be the first Viking to achieve the feat since Shalonda Winton (2009-13) who finished her career with 1,840 points and 1,086 rebounds.

COLEMAN CLOSING IN ON THREE-POINT RECORD
Cori Coleman is closing in on the Cleveland State career three-point record, entering Monday's contest with 177 career three-pointers, just 14 shy of breaking the current record of 190 which is held by Erika Roudebush (1999-03). Coleman has 25 three-pointers so far this season, and ranks third among Horizon League players averaging 2.3 three-pointers per game. Coleman would become the first current Viking to own a CSU career record.
