Cleveland State heavyweight Russ Davie, a sophomore from Toledo, Ohio, has qualified for the US World Team Trials in the Greco-Roman division to be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, from June 21-24.

Davie, who redshirted this past season at CSU, recently placed seventh at the U.S. National Greco-Roman Championships in Las Vegas April 15 in a field that included 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Rulon Gardner. His finish earned him a spot on the Senior Level National Team. In addition to qualifying for the World Trials, his accomplishments also qualify him for foreign tours and allow him to train at the Olympic Training Center.
