LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - With his pin of Lock Haven's John Trumbetti at the 1:35 mark on Friday (Feb. 3) night, Cleveland State 133-pound sophomore Nick Flannery etched his name in the school record book alongside Tony DiGiovanni (1973-74, 1975-76) and Tim Payne (1978-79) for the most dual meet pins in a season with six. Unfortunately for Cleveland State, it came in a 28-9 loss to Lock Haven.

With the loss, CSU is now 6-11 overall and 0-3 in the Eastern Wrestling League. Lock Haven improves to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the EWL.

Flannery's win made him 20-10 on the year, but more importantly tied the score at 9-9 after Corbin Boone picked up a win in the first bout of the night when wrestling started at 197 pounds.

Boone jumped up a weight class and beat LHU's Matt Parlier on a 7-5 decision.

The CSU sophomore scored early with a strong single leg before Parlier had an escape to make it 2-1 after the first period.

After Parlier elected to start down and quickly evened the score with an escape, Boone earned another takedown before Parlier earned his third point on another escape.

With a one-point advantage at the start of the final period, Boone gave himself some breathing room when he was awarded three points for a near fall to stake himself to a 7-3 lead.

Parlier scored once more on an escape and was awarded a stalling point but came up short in Boone's debut at 197.

Lock Haven won the next five bouts via decision and closed with a major decision victory at 184 pounds.

The Vikings are back in action again tomorrow as they travel to take on Bloomsburg at 1:00 p.m. The Huskies lost 22-18 to Clarion tonight and fell to 14-6 overall and 1-3 in the league.
