Brian Keck begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Vikings.

Keck began his coaching tenure at CSU following eight years as an Olympic resident athlete in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was an eight-time United States Open All-American, and won the gold medal at the 2003 Pan-Am Games in the heavyweight division.

Keck added a bronze medal in the 2004 Pan Am Games, losing to the top-ranked freestyle wrestler in the world one match before the championship.

Last year, Keck competed in the Greco-Roman Tournament at the US World Team trials where he registered a win at 120 kg before bowing out to former CSU heavyweight Russ Davie.

Following his outstanding high school career at Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, where he won a state title, Keck won the national title at heavyweight and was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Cuyahoga Community College before transferring to Bloomsburg.

Keck served as team captain in 1995 for the Huskies and was a two-time NCAA Division I NCAA qualifier.

In addition to his accolades as a wrestler, Keck's wrestling camps continue to grow and bring attention the program. Keck will host a Holiday Training Camp this year, a camp that focuses on preparing kids ages 13-18 for their holiday tournaments.

In addition, Keck takes part in three different camps in the summer - a technique camp, team-competition camp, and a commuter camp. All three events have gained in popularity both locally and nationally, bringing attention and respect to the Cleveland State wrestling program.

Keck graduated from Bloomsburg in 1995 with a degree in social welfare. He resides in Cleveland.
