Scouting Ryan Hurley

Hurley is very quick and explosive and has good balance, while having a knack for scoring at opportune times. He has the athletic ability to wrestle at a high level coupled with a competitive nature that makes him tough to beat. He has done it all for the Vikings throughout his career, winning many big matches.

2006-07 - Junior Season

Qualified for NCAA tournament for third straight year...Won first match at NCAAs in dominating form against Millersville's Cody Becker before losing two very close contests to be eliminated from the competition...Nationally ranked early in season after 9-1 start...EWL wrestler of the week (1/22)...First Viking to record an individual title for the year on Nov 18 after finishing first at the Ashland Open...wrestled every match of season at 149 except for one match at 157, a victory over John Carroll's John Jurczak (11/21).

2005-06 - Sophomore Season

Voted into the NCAA Tournament as a wild card selection...finished fourth at the Ashland Open (11/19)...placed fifth at the EWL Championship...wrestled every match of the season at 149 pounds.

2004-05 - Freshman Season

NCAA qualifier at 149 pounds, going 2-2 with a pin...finished third in the EWL Tournament with a 3-1 record...5-1 in EWL dual meets...finished second at the Kent State open with a pair of major decisions.

2003-04 - Redshirt Season

Redshirted to fulfill initial NCAA eligibility requirements.

High School

Two-time high school All-American...four-time Ohio National Team member...won the state championship as a sophomore, and placed in the top five three other times...finished seventh at the high school nationals as a senior...four-time varsity letter winner in football.
