2011-12 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Won 14 matches while competing primarily on the open circuit...Took 10 bouts at 165 pounds and won four matches against 157-pounders...Started the year by going 4-2 at 157 pounds at the Mercyhurst Laker Open (Nov. 19)...Went 3-2 with a pin, major decision and a medical forfeit at the Nittany Lion Open (Dec. 4)...Defeated his opponent from Eastern Michigan on a 6-0 decision at the Ashland Storm Open (Jan. 7)...Finished the year by going 5-2 at the Mount Union Purple Raider Open (Jan. 15)...Won a match via forfeit but won his other four matches by a 35-3 total.
HIGH SCHOOL
Three time state qualifier...twice placed at the Ohio High School Athletic Association Meet...fifth in the state at 160 pounds as a junior, helping Wadsworth capture the 2010 Division I state title, the first state wrestling title for the school since 1942...fought back from an injury that forced him to miss first six weeks of the season to become runner-up at 160 pounds as a senior, helping his team place third in Division I.
