Cleveland State Wrestling Leads the MAC with 11 All-Academic Honorees

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday the 2024 Wrestling Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 68 student-athletes were named to this year's squad.

Cleveland State led the way with a total of 11 student-athletes recognized. George Mason was second with nine honorees, while Central Michigan and Northern Illinois were tied for third with eight apiece.

The eleven athletes recognized are the second most in program history after having 13 last season and nine in each of the two seasons prior.

Bucknavich, Manley, and Patten were recognized for a third time. Aranda and Lyons each received this honor a second time.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
