Massillon, Ohio – The Vikings (0-1) opened the season with a 43-3 loss against No. 10 Iowa State in a neutral site match at Massillon Perry High School.

The Cyclones won the first six matches of the afternoon with three tech falls and three major decisions to lead 27-0.

No. 29 Dylan Layton recorded the lone win for the Green and White with a 22-18 victory over Jacob Frost at 141-pounds to trail 27-3.

Iowa State responded with a technical fall and a major decision to extend their advantage to 37-3.

The final match of the day was the homecoming match for No. 2 David Carr as he pinned Patten in 1:47 to give ISU the 43-3 win.

Cleveland State heads to Morgantown, West Virginia, on Sunday, Nov. 12 for a tri-match against West Virginia (1 PM) and Duke (3 PM).
