Wrestling Puts Nine On MAC All-Academic Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Nine members of the Cleveland State wrestling team were named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team as announced by the conference Monday morning. 

In just the second season competing in the MAC, this marks the highest number of Cleveland State honorees on the All-Academic team in program history, while the Vikings are one of four MAC teams to have nine or more representatives.

Six of Cleveland State's All-Academic Team honorees represented the Vikings at the MAC championships – Cody Moosman, Marcus Robinson, Riley Smucker, Anthony Rice, DeAndre Nassar, John Kelbly – while Robinson and Nassar also represented Cleveland State at the 2021 NCAA Championships.

Throughout their Cleveland State careers, this group has combined for 18 Dean's List honors, while they helped the Vikings post a 3.539 team GPA during the 2020 Fall Semester. 

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50-percent of the contests for that season.
