Willeford and Shaw Ranked in the NCAA Coaches' Panel

Willeford and Shaw Ranked in the NCAA Coaches' Panel

The first NCAA Coaches' Panels Rankings were released for the top 33 Division I wrestlers in each weight class. Cleveland State's Ben Willeford is #15 at 125 and Riley Shaw is #15 at 285. There are sixteen total Eastern Wrestling League wrestlers ranked.

These rankings are compiled by winning percentage, rating percentage index, and coaches' rankings to earn spots in their qualifying tournaments. Wrestlers must participate in at least five matches against Division I opponents and also within the past 30 days.

"Those two guys are leaders on our team. They work really hard. There are a couple other guys on the cusp of being ranked. We look for Ben and Riley to continue to move up in the rankings," Head Coach Stehura said.

The rankings at the end of the season will be used as part of the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on March 19-21 in St. Louis.
