Vikings Kickoff Season at Binghamton Open

BINGHAMTON, N.Y.-  The Cleveland State wrestling team started the season on the mats in an all day exhibition tournament Sunday, as Viking wrestlers competed at the Binghamton Open.

The Vikings were led by Nick Corba (174), sophomore Daniel King (125), sophomore Matt Donohoe (157), and Gabe Stark (157).  Corba won five matches on the day, going 5-2 overall, including two pins. King tallied four wins against his opponents, including a pin that came in 32 seconds. Donohoe and Stark each recorded three victories on the day.

King had an impressive pin against Lock Haven's Jake Field.  The pin came at 32 seconds of the bout.  Corba had a fall in a bout victory over Drexel's Evan Disora.  The pin came at 2:20 of the match.

The Vikings will return to the mats on Sunday (Nov. 17) as CSU will travel to Bloomington, Indiana, to square off against Indiana and Duke in a tri-meet match beginning at 11:00 a.m.
