Cleveland, Ohio- The Cleveland State Vikings' wrestling squad started off its dual meet season right Tuesday night on the road, taking down John Carroll 31-9 to move to 1-0 on the year.
The Vikings got off to a hot start, as CSU took home victories in the first five weight classes, winning eight weight classes in total of the ten on the night.
Junior Ben Willeford (125 lb.) and redshirt freshman Michael Carlone (133 lb.) started off the night strong for CSU as both earned commanding major decision victories to begin off the meet. Willeford took down his opponent 16-4, with Carlone taking a big 12-2 victory for CSU in his match-up.
Nick Anthony was able to pick up a pin for the Vikings at 197 pounds at 5:58 into his match, taking down Bryan Adams. Xavier Dye also earned a big technical fail 16-1 win at 174 pounds.
The Vikings will be back in action November 30th when they take on Eastern Michigan on the road. Here is a breakdown of tonight's results
