INDIANAPOLIS- The Cleveland State Vikings' wrestling squad was recognized nationally this week as three Vikings were recognized as top wrestlers in their individual weight classes in the NCAA's first RPI rankings of the 2012-13 season.

In order to become eligible for an RPI (rating percentage index) ranking, a wrestler must have a minimum of 17 Division I matches at any one weight class. After determining each qualified wrestler, the NCAA has noted the top 33 in each class for their RPI rankings.

These RPI rankings, along with winning percentage and the NCAA coaches' rankings are the three factors that wrestlers are measured by to earn spots for their respective qualifying tournaments for the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at the end of the year.

CSU had three wrestlers recognized in the top 33 nationally for their class in Ben Willeford at 33rd at 125 pounds, Michael Carloneat 33rd at 133 pounds, and Riley Shaw at 32nd at 285 pounds.

All three have shined so far this season, with Willeford leading the team with 19 wins. His 19 victories have surpassed his season total of 18 from a year ago.

Shaw and Carlone have also performed well all year long, picking up 15 and 14 wins respectively on the year. Shaw's 15 wins are currently second on the team, and Carlone's 14 wins tie him for third with Matt Donohoe
