CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The championship season continues for Cleveland State tennis.
ESPN released the NCAA Division I men's tennis tournament bracket at 5:20 p.m.. Tuesday evening, placing the Vikings in uncharted territory. CSU will travel to Lexington, Ky to take on the University of Kentucky on Friday, May 8.
The top 16 teams in the nation are set to host the first round of the tournament. Kentucky enters the tournament ranked No. 11 in the country. Northwestern and Wake Forest will also join Cleveland State at UK.
"We are excited to have an experience different from Ohio State this year," said CSU coach Brian Etzkin. "It will be nice to see some unfamiliar faces on the other side of the net. We are honored to be in the tournament and we are looking forward to testing ourselves against the best."
Last year the Viking men traveled to Columbus, losing 4-0 to Ohio State in their first NCAA tournament appearance in school history.
CSU will begin the first round with a 20-5 overall record, while Kentucky is 17-11.
