The Cleveland State men's tennis team (8-18) closed out their regular season on Apr. 15 by defeating Robert Morris 6-1 at Malaga Tennis Center.
Senior Adam Mercurio (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain Catholic) went undefeated in his match, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Freshman Jay Tee (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport Central) went 6-0, 6-2 for his win while sophomores Eric Winn (Austin, Texas/Westlake), Shawn Whitehouse (Austin, Texas/Westlake) and Jordan Reynolds (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted) also easily handled their opponents.
The doubles teams of Paul Haley/Reynolds and Whitehouse/Mercurio took 8-2 and 8-2 wins, respectively, earning the doubles point.
The Vikings look to continue their success in the Horizon League Tournament, beginning Apr. 26 in Indianapolis.
